Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, from the app, without emailing anyone and without waiting. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
From the app, in a minute
- Open Rufi and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm once.
- Type the word DELETE and confirm again. This is there so it cannot happen by accident.
What gets deleted
- Account, email, consents and preferences.
- Accounts, transactions, budgets, savings goals, assets and recurring expenses.
- Tax profile and self-employed module data, if you had it enabled.
- Analyses and suggestions generated by artificial intelligence.
- Optional demographic profile, if you filled it in.
What stays, and why
If you shared a household, the transactions you entered stay in the household, reassigned to the admin and stripped of your tax flags: these are shared accounts, and deleting them would distort everyone else’s balances. If you were the last member, the household is deleted with you. Anonymous technical logs (date and type of operation, no content) delete themselves within 90 days.
Timing
Immediate. There is no cooling-off period and no way to undo it: once deletion succeeds, the data is gone.
If you cannot access the app
Email rufi@rufiway.com from the address you signed up with. We reply within 30 days, as the GDPR requires.
